Zayn Malik and American fashion model Gigi Hadid have allegedly split. A magazine has come with claims that the former One Direction singer broke-up with the model after her birthday.
A source told Life & Style: "Zayn broke the news to Gigi two weeks after her birthday. He sat her down at dinner and told her how he felt."
"Zayn told Gigi that he wanted to keep his options open and work on himself," the insider added. "Gigi was shocked because she thought they were a perfect couple. She is absolutely heartbroken and has been feeling really sad ever since."
Rumours that Perrie Edwards' former boyfriend and Hadid are romantically involved started after the two were spotted in the same car following the American Music Awards after-party at Los Angeles' The Nice Guy club on 24 November 2015. Adding on, the couple have shared several pictures of them together on social media.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Billboard magazine, Malik talked about what he is looking for in a relationship. He said: "I need a challenge. Also, I like girls that are a bit chunky in certain areas — the nice areas. I like a fuller woman. I enjoy an intellectual conversation as well, where someone can construct a sentence beyond what hair and makeup they're wearing, and talk about something political or about the world. I like an opinion."
