After days of speculations and rumours, the royal family has recently confirmed that the Duke and Duchess are expecting their third child. A statement from Kensington Palace said: "Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child."

Ever since the news went viral, betting sites and bookies are working overtime to predict the possible names for the third royal scion. The most popular name among gamblers is Alice, with 10–1 odds through betting company William Hill. Even on Ladbrokes (another betting site), Alice is topping the list with 7—1 odds. A report on Newsweek clarified that Alice is the name of the daughter of Queen Victoria who died in 1878, or Princess Alice of Battenberg, Queen Elizabeth II's mother-in-law.

A representative from Ladbrokes told The Telegraph, "The early money suggests punters would love to see Kate and Wills welcome another little girl into their family, who is called Alice. It should come as no surprise to see fairly normal yet regal names top the betting. Royal watchers have been convinced over the last few weeks that an announcement was coming, and we're paying out with a smile that their hunch was bang on the money."

Arthur and Victoria are the second most popular ones with 12—1 odds. Other trending names are Alexander, Frederick, Philip, James, Grace and Elizabeth. While most of the netizens are predicting a baby girl for the royal family, there are some who are expecting twins, with 10—1 odds on the betting site. Well, people are not just predicting the name and gender, they are also speculating about the baby's weight, delivery date and even the time of birth.

The least favourite names among punters are Wayne, Chardonnay, Posh, and Waynetta. What do you think of the next royal baby's name? Comment us your thoughts!
