Lee Ji Hye has opened up her past controversy over breast augmentation. The former Sharp member revealed that her label asked her to hold a press conference in a bikini so that the rumours of her breast implants can be proved wrong.
During a recent episode of Heard it Through the Grapevine, Hye stated that she was too young to think maturely at that time, and acted as she was told to do so. The 36-year-old said: "My label CEO told me to provide justification to stop the controversy, but he didn't even show up that day. Now that I think about it, I think it was aiming for noise marketing because it was when an album was released."
She added: "I don't think I can ever do it now if anyone tells me to, but back then I was so young, I just thought I had to do it no matter what."
Ji Hye, who appeared in We Got Married with Danny Ahn, also clarified that the reason she raised her arms in most of the pictures was to justify her point, reported Allkpop. Ji Hye explained: "Do they know if you have undergone surgery or not if you wear a bikini? (Probably not) That's why I lifted my arms up, because back then a lot of the breast augmentation was done through the armpits."
