Billy Ray Cyrus has responded to Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth wedding reports. The 54-year-old country crooner revealed that the couple are happy together.
The 26-year-old Hunger Games actor and Miley were spotted together several times recently after breaking off their engagement in 2013. However, the two have denied that they have reunited.
Responding to the couple's reunion, Billy Ray told E! News: "Here's what I do know. They're so happy. That's the main thing. Miley and I, we always had this slogan—'If you ain't happy, it ain't working.' Just seeing these—I still call 'em kids—these two kids happy, that's all that matters."
"If any of my kids decide that they're gonna have a wedding of any kind, whatever role they want me to play, I'll be there, you know what I mean? They want me to be the butler—that's fine. Whatever they choose. I might make a good preacher," he added.
Previoulsy, in an interview with Elle magazine, Cyrus confessed that she thought she would die without her Disney career and Hemsworth. She said: "When I went through a really intense breakup — you know, I was engaged — and when I was with him [Hemsworth] or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn't there to carry me anymore or if I didn't have him."
"And now I'm free of both of those things, and I'm fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I'm totally okay, and that's so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn't have a boyfriend," she said.
