After the massive success of Korean drama "Descendants of the Sun" in China, both Song Joong-ki and Im Yoona are hugely popular in the country, sowing confusion as to who is most popular star in China.
While the Chinese entertainment industry statistics indicate that the popularity of Girls' Generation member Im Yoona is soaring past all records, on the other hand, Google search trends show that the Descendants of the Sun actor, Song Joong-ki, is the hottest online search.
According to statistics, the actress recently defeated the boyish-looking hunk from the hit series 'Descendents of the Sun', Song Joong Ki, in the Chinese popularity graph released by Chinese entertainment data analysis and consulting company Vlinkage.
The 25-year-old is being highly appreciated for her lead role as Zhao Yun, on Hunan TV's God of War. Soon after this, the singer-actress was offered a number of projects from production companies. It seems that the Love Rain actress is also one of the highest paid in the industry, charging 3 billion KRW ($2,660,310) for a drama, as reported by AllKPop.
On the other hand, Song Joong-ki has also been flooded with commercial offers including that of Jeju Air, Maxim Tea, Baskin-Robins and Domino's Pizza.
The 30-year-old heartthrob will also feature on the cover of the fashion magazine Maria Claire, in its June issue. He has been recently appointed as the ambassador by the Korea Tourism Organization, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Song will be seen in a series of commercials to promote tourism in Korea.
Recently, both Im Yoona and Song Jonng-ki were seen performing in Happy Camp making the competition even more challenging for each other.
