Park Seo-joon and Kang Ha-neul's bromance is working its charm on South Korean moviegoers as it's currently the no. 2 movie in that country. The co-stars certainly cannot get over themselves.
As noted by website Soompi, Park Seo-joon and Kang Ha-neul appeared on the Guerrilla Date segment of South Korean talk show 'Entertainment Weekly,' on August 11. In the show, the two leads were asked to pick each other's best traits.
Praising Kang Ha-neul, the 'Hwarang' actor said, "Kang Ha Neul's smile is beautiful. He smiles with a wide-open mouth." ToKang Ha-neul, on the other hand, talked about Park Seo-joon's broad shoulders. "He has a confidence that comes out of his wide shoulders," Ha-neul said.
Soompi also notes that when the actors began their guerrilla date with their fans, the interviewer for 'Entertainment Weekly' jokingly asked, "You two are really close, right? How long have you been dating?" To this, Park Seo-joon replied, "It's been five months now." Park Seo-joon recently denied dating his 'Fight My Way' leading lady Kim Ji-won.
The co-stars even went as further as to say they'd really want to win the Best Couple Award at the year-end awards ceremonies than a Best Actor Award. At this juncture, something even funnier happened. Park Seo-joon was playing the lie detector test when he was asked this question and his answer was revealed to be a lie by the machine.
In the interview, the actors also revealed how they deglamorise themselves to play their respective parts in 'Midnight Runners,' where they play students in a police academy. While Park Seo-joon said no makeup was done to his character at all, Kang Ha-neul added that they needed to deglamorise themselves to portray the tough life of police academy recruits. It was also revealed that both cut their hair for the movie.
This isn't the first time the two actors showed off their bromance. On the July 23 broadcast of 'Section TV,' to promote 'Midnight Runners,' Park Seo-joon had said, "Ha-neul is really handsome. He does a lot of good deeds, too." To this, Kang Ha-neul replied by saying, "Park Seo Joon is really sexy. He has such a pretty forehead." The interviewer further asked if Kang Ha-neul had taken a look at Park Seo-joon's back muscles. Kang Ha-neul hilariously replied, "I've seen them a lot. I've seen much more than that actually."
'Midnight Runners' is playing in cinemas in South Korea and Hong Kong.
