Actor Song Joong-ki will be seen giving a guest appearance in the preview episode of the Chinese version of the South Korean variety show "Running Man". The Chinese version has been named as "Hurry Up Brother".
The 30-year-old actor will be seen in the video introducing himself to the Chinese viewers in Mandarin. It also features also Song's current visit to Bangkok holding a fan meet with his followers in Thailand, where he will be competing in various games.
Soompi has reported that the cast of "Hurry Up, Brother" were really surprised and very happy with the guest appearance of the "Descendants of the Sun" actor on their show.
However, the Korean daily wrote that the reunion of the Korean and Chinese cast of "Running Man" would not be shown in South Korea.
In late April, PD Lee Hwan Jin said there were discussions regarding this, but chances are that the "Hurry Up, Brother" would not be seen by South Korean fans of the actor.
Lee Hwan Jin indicated to the different concepts of the Chinese and South Korean versions of the show. He also said that there are other issues including difficulty in finding a broadcast time and the language problem.
He shared that it was a fun ambience and happy collaboration when the Korean cast came to help the Chinese cast in Gyeonggi-do.
The Chinese cast went to South Korea for the shooting of "Hurry Up, Brother." The initiative was led by PD Lum Hyung Taek.
Song Joong-ki became close to PD Lum Hyung Taek since both of them were part of the "Running Man," while PD Lum Hyung Taek is currently overseeing "Hurry Up, Brother."
Blossom Entertainment, the agency of Song, has also explained that they have accepted this guest offer in "Hurry Up Brother" because of the actor's close friendship with PD Lum Hyung Taek.
"Running Man" was premiered on July 11, 2010 in South Korea and it is the current longest-running programme in South Korean TV history. The MCs and guests of the show compete at a landmark to win the race.
