President Barack Obama hosted his last White House Correspondents annual dinner this weekend. Obama's presidency is set to end on January 20, 2017, when the 45th president is expected to take office.
The WHC annual dinner, which began in 1920, takes place every year to "acknowledge award-winners, present scholarships, and give the press and the president an evening of friendly appreciation". But lately, this eventful dinner has been garnering attention due to its 'Hollywood' inspired guest list.
Many of the prominent members of the entertainment industry are the guest invitees to the WHC annual dinner, which makes the event more star studded.
This year, the A listers who hit the annual bash at the White house included Helen Mirren , Kerry Washington, Emma Watson and Tom Hiddletson. The event also saw Kendal Jenner and Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra walking down the red carpet.
Without any doubt, the red carpet of the event was more like a fashion parade from the Hollywood. All the invitees clad in their best attires made the dinner evening more glamorous and eye-pleasing.
