In his first public appearance since announcing his wedding with Song Hye-kyo, Song Joong-ki has talked about his girlfriend and bride-to-be. His words reveal a deep respect and love for the talented actress.

Website Koreaboo notes that Song Joong-ki was attending a movie talk event to promote 'The Battleship Island,' when he was asked about what he loved most about Song Hye-kyo. Song Joong-ki said, "As many people already know, she's quite calm, she's thoughtful, and she's a positive influence on me."

Below is a photo of the actor taken while he was talking to reporters.

He continued by saying, "She's my sunbae but she's a really good friend. I have a lot of things to learn from her as an actor, and I receive a lot of good energy when I'm with her." It appears that Song Joong-ki's love for his soon-to-be wife is founded in respect for the older, more experienced actress. The actor had reportedly proposed to her in Japan.

Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo's relationship is indeed a mature one that will hopefully last longer because their roots are stronger than couples who are just infatuated with each other. Song Joong-ki's confession shows he values her friendship, experience and positivity above all else. It's not mere physical attraction, though both of them are undeniably beautiful.

In another interview for 'The Battleship Island,' as noted by website Soompi, Song Joong-ki was asked about his wedding plans. As the actor sat down for the interview, Master of Ceremonies (MC) Park Kyung-Lim said, "You look like you are doing very well," obviously referring to his forthcoming marriage with Song Hye-kyo. Song Joong-ki jokingly played along with the MC's subtler approach by pretending not to understand what she was hinting at, saying, "Did something happen? I'm not sure."

In the same interview, the actor also said he was anxious regarding 'The Battleship Island.' "I'm really nervous. It's been five years since I've been in a movie," Song Joong-ki revealed. The movie directed by Ryoo Seung-wan is a fictionalised account of tough conditions faced by Korean labourers in Japanese occupation-era Hashima Island.

Following years of speculation and rumours among fans, Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki finally revealed through their agencies that they'll tie the knot on October 31, this year. The couple wrote personal letters to their fans explaining the reason behind the delayed announcement and sought their blessings.
