Girl group SISTAR decided to disband after seven years, but the reason wasn't known. Recently, Starship Entertainment revealed that it was because of Hyorin's desire to begin her career as a solo artist that decided that disbandment is the best option.

Initially, it was reported that SISTAR's disbandment was because all the four members of SISTAR wanted to expand their horizons and pursue individual paths.

However, the recent reports state that Hyorin was one of the major deciding factors. Hyorin's desire to pursue her career as a solo artist was respected and the members had agreed on disbanding if any one of the members decided to leave the group.

After Hyorin' success in her concert tours in South America strongly expressed on continuing as a solo artist, in spite of the fact that the other members and agency staff reportedly tried convincing her to stay.

According to Koreaboo, Starship Entertainment in the official statement stated, "Hyorin expressed that the feeling of disbanding now or in several years will be the same as it is now. So they really mustered up a lot of courage to decide on disbanding now."

The agency also mentioned that Hyorin expressed that disbandment will be heartbreaking no matter when it happen, whether it happens now or several years later. So, the group to disband now when the members are still young and can pursue their own paths and grow.

Further revealed, "Honestly, there were no conflicts within our agency, nor were there any troubles among the members. They happily promoted the group for 7 years without any problems, so we decided to support their individual futures. Age may not be that important in trying out new challenges, but we couldn't completely ignore age either."

The website further reported that while Hyorin and Soyou is planning to continue as a singer, Bora and Dasom wishes to work on both music and acting in future.
