The year 2017 is coming to its final stretch and as part of its tradition, YouTube has released a recap video of what went down the whole year. With it are the top trending videos of the year.

Puerto Rican singers Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's Despacito became the most viewed YouTube video of all time which now has more than 4.4 billion hits. Meanwhile, top trending videos in 2017 were also released, as follows:

5. Ed Sheeran Carpool Karaoke

On the fifth spot is British hitmaker Ed Sheeran's guesting on The Late Late Show with James Corden's Carpool Karaoke segment. The on-the-road jamming was published on June 6 as part of the singer-songwriter's promo for his new album Divide.

4. Darci Lynne: 12-year-old singing ventriloquist gets golden buzzer - America's Got Talent 2017

Making rounds on the web this year is 12-year-old ventriloquist Darci Lynne on America's Got Talent 2017. Lynn was eventually proclaimed as the top-prize winner of the talent show where she beat 9-year-old Angelica Hale who placed first.

3. Ping Pong Trick Shots 3 | Dude Perfect

American sports entertainment group Dude Perfect boasts 24 million YouTube followers and securing a spot on the top trending videos this year comes as no surprise. As of the moment, the Ping Pong Trick Shots 3 has already garnered nearly 100 million views.

2. Ed Sheeran - Shape of You | Kyle Hanagami Choreography

Well-known dance guru Kyle Hanagami's students in their performance recital to the music of Ed Sheeran's Shape of You became a big hit this year. Uploaded on January 13, the video has since seen nearly 120 million times.

1. Until we will become dust - Oyster Mask | The Mask Singer 2

And the top trending video of 2017 on YouTube goes to a Thai singer performing in an oyster costume. The video has been viewed more than 181 million times since the time of posting in June.
