Xiaomi has finally unveiled its highly-anticipated flagship phone 'Mi 6' at the recent media event in Beijing, wherein the device has been touted to be the biggest rival of Samsung's upcoming offerings over the next 12 months.
The Mi 6 is touted to be one of the best performance phones in the market as it's powered by Qualcomm's latest 10nm Snapdragon 835 processor chipset, which is undoubtedly the fastest octa-core mobile processor with a clock speed of 2.45GHz. The Octa-core CPU is paired with the new Adreno 540 GPU which is rated to be 25% faster than its predecessor, the Adreno 530.
Given its stunning design elements and top-notch processing power, the Mi 6 stands out as the best value for money premium smartphone in the market. It comes with a 5.15in full HD display and four-sided 3D glass accompanied by Blue metallic or limited Silver Edition finish.
If the Silver Edition does not quench your thirst, you could opt for the dazzling Ceramic edition with four-sided curved ceramic finish, 8 Mohs hardness, and 18-karat gold camera trims.
Some of the other noteworthy features include 6GB of RAM, 12MP rear camera with dual camera setup comprising 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. The special camera setup is touted to offer 2x lossless zoom along the lines of iPhone 7 Plus.
Not to mention, the Mi 6 doesn't shy away from borrowing its design cues from the prolific iPhone 7 Plus. The former has dropped the headphone jack and incorporated integrated stereo speakers along with USB-C ports akin to the latter.
The Mi 6 also mirrors the water-resistant capabilities of an iPhone 7 and that leaves prospective buyers with a tough decision to choose between iPhone 7/7 Plus, Galaxy S8 and Xiaomi Mi 6.
Coming to the pricing details, the Mi 6 is very competitively priced at ¥2499 ($360) for the 64GB variant and ¥2,899 ($420) for the 128GB variant. The Ceramic Edition of this phone will be available in a single 128GB storage model and it sells quite expensive at ¥2,999 ($435).
Prospective Mi 6 buyers in China will have to wait until 28 April for the phone's release.
