Xiaomi Mi 5s users are in for some exciting news as the handset was spotted running Android 7.1.1 Nougat in a recent GFXBench report. Consequently, it is evident that the company is already testing the latest Nougat update on the smartphone to iron out any bugs in the software, ahead of its public release.
Xiaomi had recently confirmed the Nougat release status for supported devices including the Mi 5s. However, it is now evident that the company would be skipping Android 7.0 for Android 7.1.1 on the handset.
Mi 5 users in China had recently received the MIUI 8.2 based Android 7.0 Nougat update and Xiaomi seems all set to ramp up its pace in rolling out regular Nougat updates for its newer handsets.
Just a couple of months ago, the Redmi Note 3 was spotted running the latest Nougat build, which further strengthens the belief that Xiaomi is quickly adopting a noticeable change from its delayed release pattern for latest Android updates.
