When Verizon started to roll out their LTE network, it was evident that they were going to stop the CDMA services altogether. Now the carrier has started offering its first LTE-only handsets and it's an LG flip phone. The model LG Exalt LTE especially targets the consumers that prefer basic feature phones over the smartphones.

LG Exalt LTE is a flip feature phone and it is much better and sturdier than its plastic counterparts, but at the same time, it's also detached from all the highly advanced smartphones that are available today.

Of course, you cannot expect iPhone or Galaxy S series like features from this LG Exalt LTE. The flip phone features an "unnamed" 1.1 GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3-inch WQVGA screen, a 5-megapixel camera, a text-to-speech transformation function, up to six hours of battery life, 8GB storage that is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD cards.

This model is apt for people who just want a phone to make clear and proper voice calls. Since its calls make use of Verizon's LTE network, it takes advantage of its HD Voice feature that delivers high-resolution sound to the callers.

Right now the LG Exalt is available on Verizon's website for purchase and it boasts a price tag of $168.

If this venture can successfully attract the feature phone lovers into opting for upgradation then Verizon can finally dedicate its CDMA network entirely to power the Internet of Things, reported Engadget.
