Avid football fans are in for some great news as Twitter has signed up a lucrative deal with NFL to live stream this season's Thursday Night Football games for free, using a dedicated Android TV app. The NFL football season is already into the eleventh week out of a 17-week season and it may seem a bit late for football fanatics to exploit this unique privilege on Twitter.
It is still unclear why the Twitter Android TV app displays screenshots taken off the phone app for showcasing the dedicated listing of various TV shows and events.
The main app interface has two sections of user interest: 'Today on Twitter' and 'Top Periscopes' for your favourite personalities on the television. The former section includes listing of popular tweets with embedded photos and videos, along with a row dedicated to ensuing live videos on the Periscope service.
On the downside, the interface has some serious drawbacks wherein the typed text within a tweet often obscures the blurred and cropped image that's being commented on. There is no way to tweet anything directly from the Android TV app, instead users will have to login to the Twitter app separately using their phones.
Interested users may go ahead and download the latest version of Twitter for Android TV app via Google Play Store.
