Twitch's official desktop app is now available to download for Windows and Mac devices. Video game players and streamers can still take advantage of all the features in the live streaming platform without ever needing any web browser.
Twitch Interactive has finally developed an independent Twitch desktop app, which all Windows and Mac computer users can get alongside the platform's popular features. Apart from the live stream and chat capabilities, the Twitch desktop app also allows players to use the CurseForge platform right from the app.
Acquired by Twitch in 2016, CurseForge accounts will be able to sync automatically with the Twitch desktop app, including the friends list. The new desktop app also brings public and private messaging and video and audio calling.
Twitch streamers can enjoy the service in its entirety as a vast number of mods, in-game overlays and game add-ons are still supported in the desktop app. The in-game overlay allows users to receive calls without switching between windows.
Most of all, the Twitch desktop app still has the Servers, a virtual hub wherein a community of followers will be able to watch, play and chat even when the stream is offline.
