Ikea furniture buyers can breathe a sigh of relief, as Swedish giant furniture company is finally going online after two years of its struggle in making their business a success.

Singaporeans can now give their visit to Swedish furniture giant's Tampines megastore or Alexander outlet a miss and instead can choose to sit in the house by logging on to its website and purchase their favorite furniture at IKEA.sg. 

The online store has an extensive inventory of 7,000 products. One can also shop from the similar variety of items available in bricks and mortar stores at the same price.

Online delivery of the furnitures at IKEA is available for purchase above $15. Customers can also  pick furniture, assemble and install service through the online store. For delivery of bulky items, buyers need to pay extra $70.

The delivery service vendors are trained to assemble the furniture, but services are not free of cost. To qualify for parcel delivery, the total item to be purchased must not weight more than 24 kg and should be less than 1m in length.

It also has products right from baby furniture to small storage organizers, with different ideas on how to decorate one's room, children's room, balcony and more. Customers have to pay 15 percent of furniture amount beforehand to avail the delivery of furniture.

People can pay by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and e- Nets, moreover order cancellation for furniture is allowed two days prior to delivery. IKEA is a multinational group headquartered in the Netherlands that designs and sells ready–to–assemble furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories.

It has been the world's largest furniture retailer since 2008. It has 267 stores in 25 countries, IKEA stores app is available for download in Google Play and Apple play store.
