Sony has lived up to its fan expectations by rolling out the highly-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update via OTA for a spate of Xperia devices including the Xperia Z3+, Z3+ Dual and the Xperia Z5 family. The new OTA update carries the same build number 32.3.A.0.372 for both Z3+ and Z5 devices, although the Z5 received the update a day earlier than the Z3.

Despite featuring the same build number, the size of Xperia Z3+ Nougat update is a bit larger than what the Z5 received on 18 January. The Z3+ update weighs nearly 1.4GB in contrast to the 1.3GB OTA file rolled out to the Z5 handsets.

In related news, the Z5 Compact is also expected to receive the latest Android 7.0 update soon with a revamped feature set as seen in the standard Z5 and Z5 Premium models.

The Nougat update now features multi-window support and enhanced battery life with due credit to Android's energy efficient Doze system. Sony has also revamped its battery saving STAMINA mode to enable users prioritise performance or standby times, besides adding Google Now feature to the Xperia launcher as well as a timer to the selfie camera.
