A driver has been left in a critical condition after losing control of their car and crashing into the roof of a house. The St Louis Fire Department was called out to the unoccupied house on 16 July, and found a car on the top of a house. The vehicle was apparently travelling at high speeds when the driver lost control, sending the vehicle airborne and into the roof. A besieged suburb of Homs received aid for the first time since June. Flour, medical items, water and sanitation material were delivered to cut-off Houla. Aid agencies in Syria called for regular access as one-off deliveries run out quickly. According to the U.N. more than half a million people live in besieged territories. Manhattan superintendent Martin Fernandez posted a video of an epic apartment cleanup on YouTube. Thousands of cockroaches were crawling through the rooms and Fernandez even found the corpse of a dead cat. According to the superintendent, the former tenant began hording stuff two years ago. Three people, including a child, were injured in a car crash at an Oakland crosswalk. A young woman, her cousin and younger brother were crossing the road when a car plowed into them without slowing down. The five-year-old boy was taken into intensive care with spinal injuries.
