Residents in West Mosul are rebuilding their lives after the victory over Isis. Hundreds of people are returning home after the city is back in government hands. Some decided to rebuild their destroyed houses and shops without waiting for help from the cash-strapped Iraqi government. Others are busy repairing streets, power lines and sewage systems. Oxford University employee and US professor arrested over murder of Trenton Cornell-Duranleau

An Oxford University employee and a US professor have been arrested for murder. Andrew Warren and Wyndham Lathem were arrested in San Francisco and Oakland. They are accused of fatally stabbing 26-year-old Trenton Cornell-Duranleau in Lathems apartment. Warren and Lathem were caught on CCTV leaving the building in Chicago that night. Three US marines missing at sea after Osprey aircraft crashes off Australia

Three US marines are missing after their plane crashed into the sea near the Australian coast. Twenty-three others were rescued, with one person taken to hospital. Marine Corps called off the search and rescue mission for the three marines missing. Officials called weather conditions during the incident benign. James Comey signed a new book deal. The former FBI director will publish a book about leadership and decision-making in Spring 2018. The deal with Macmillans Flatiron Books comes 3 months after Comey was fired by President Trump, which sparked questions about whether Trump has interfered the FBIs investigation into the Russia probe. Kidnapped British model freed from Bitcoin sex slave auction in Milan

A British model was kidnapped and held captive for six days in Italy. The 20-year-old woman was drugged and put into a suitcase by a Polish national on 11 July. Lukasz Herba is accused of luring the woman to Milan with a fake photoshoot. He threatened to auction her off on the dark web as a sex slave. Italian media reports that Herba has links to the Black Death criminal organisation. He eventually dropped the woman off at the British consulate in Milan.
