Thousands gather outside Madrids city hall in protest of Catalonia independence referendum

Thousands of demonstrators have gathered outside City hall to protest against the independence referendum planned to go ahead in Catalonia on Sunday (October 1st). Tens of thousands are expected to turn up at the polling stations. However the referendum has no legal status and the government are trying to prevent it from going ahead. They have sealed schools which were planned to host polling stations and sent police to the region   Oct 1, 2017

North Korean missiles spotted being moved from rocket facility reports South Korean Broadcaster

South Koreas Korean Broadcasting System reports several North Korean Missiles have been moved from a rocket facility in the capital Pyongyang.South Korea and the United States are said to have detected the move.According to the report the missiles could either be intermediate range Hwansong-12 or intercontinental ballistic Hwasong-14 missiles.South Korean officials are concerned North Korea will conduct more missile launches.The predict it could happen on either near the anniversary of the founding of its community party on October 10th or when China holds its Communist Party Congress on October 18th. Mexico City residents still unable to return home following deadly earthquake

Some Mexico City residents are unable to return home following the deadly earthquake on September 19th. They are having to wait till their buildings are inspected to ensure they are safe to return. This has resulted in residents sleeping in their cars nearby as they are worried their properties may be broken into. In the South of the city some residents have been able to return, however they are wary.  Sep 30, 2017

California wildfire comes dangerously close to homes

Footage from Santa Barbara County Fire and local residents shows massive flames from the so called Rucker fire that came dangerously close to homes in Lompoc, California. According to officials 50-100 structures were initially threatened. Firefighters have made advances overnight and evacuation orders have been lifted, although many roads remain closed. There have been 41,000 wildfires in the US so far this year. According to the National Interagency Fire Center that is well above the 4.2 million acres burned over the last 10 years.   Sep 30, 2017
