Just a day after the iPhone X launch event, Singapore's largest mobile telecom operator Singtel has invited customers to register their interest for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X on their website.
Interested customers can now pre-register for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X and get the latest updates on how to get their hands on one. Singtel's early lead suggest that it will be one of the first telecom operators to offer the iPhone X in Singapore .
Its rival telcos StarHub and M1 have not yet started the pre-registration, although StarHub's website has an entire section dedicated to Apple's latest smartphones.
Apple's futuristic iPhone X has a beautiful edge-to-edge 5.8-inch, super retina display, and uses advanced facial recognition technology to unlock the device. The smartphone comes in two configurations of 64GB and 256GB and in silver or space grey paintjobs.
The iPhone X will start shipping to Singapore from November 3 and is expected to cost S$1,648 for the base 64GB version without contract. The S$1,648 price tag means the iPhone will be more expensive than the $999 starting price for the US. Pre-orders will start from October 27.
The other smartphones, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, do not offer any major improvements over previous year's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, except for wireless charging suport and a new A11 Bionic chipset.
They come in 64GB and 256GB configurations just like the iPhone X, with the additional gold color option. Singaporeans can get their hands on these models on September 22. Prices start at S$1,148 for the iPhone 8 and S$1,308 for the iPhone 8 Plus. Pre-orders begin as early as September 15.
