A male motorcyclist was injured in an accident on Bartley Road, a busy stretch in Singapore. The accident, which took place on Monday, September 25, near Bartley MRT station towards Braddell Road, involved a motorcycle and two cars. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted at 7.13 a.m.
The 33-year-old man, who was riding on the motorcycle, was rushed to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital soon after the SCDF sent an ambulance to the scene. The man was in a state of consciousness when he entered the hospital.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is investigating the accident.
A video captured by The Straits Times shows a Honda Vezel, black in colour, in the farthest lane on the right. An injured motorcyclist can be seen lying beside the car, protruding in the left lane.
Singapore has seen several road accidents in the past few months. On September 22, a tipper truck driver got injured when his vehicle skidded and overturned on the Pan-Island Expressway before the Kallang Way exit.
A 29-year-old Singaporean Traffic Sergeant died in a road accident along Serangoon Road in June. The SPF stated that the sergeant, Nadzrie Matin, was performing patrol duties when he was hit by a vehicle.
Another motorcyclist casualty occurred in May near Pasir Panjang in Singapore. The 30-year-old man was hit by a tipper truck, after which the police was informed. Paramedics declared the man dead on the spot.
Another horrific accident took place in Singapore in the month of May, in which an SBS bus and a ComfortDelGro were involved. The accident took place at the junction of Hougang Avenue 2 and Yio Chu Kang Road. AT least eight people were injured as a result of it.
