Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said on 31 March that April 2017 will be rainy and warm. In the first two weeks of the month, which is climatologically one of the warmest months, citizens can expect temperatures to reach up to 35°C.
MSS also said that rainfall is expected to be slightly above normal in this month. Short-duration, moderate to heavy thundery showers are forecasted for six to seven days, mostly in the afternoons, said The Channel News Asia.
"In addition, a temporary shift in the winds to blow from the southwest or west could lead to the development of Sumatra squalls to the west of Singapore and bring widespread thundery showers accompanied by gusty winds to Singapore on two or three days in the predawn and early morning," said MSS, as reported.
MSS also said that March 2017 concluded with below-normal rainfall. Moreover, there were a few warm days where temperatures rose up to 35.7°C.
