At least 4 people have been injured due to a multi-vehicle accident along Tanjong Pagar Road on Thursday evening in Singapore. The police have arrested a 41-year-old man for suspected drink driving that has led to the accident.
The police said that they were informed about the accident, involving a car, taxi and a lorry, at around 6.30 pm.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that four ambulances were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident.
Brenda Har, an eyewitness told Channel NewsAsia that she heard a "loud bang and many people screaming" when she was on her way to the supermarket. She said that soon after the accident both police and SCDF reached the accident scene.
According to Har, the four pedestrians, including a man aged around 60 to 70, all appeared to be "quite badly injured".
Reports said that all the four injured people have been taken to Singapore General Hospital for treatment. The police added that investigations are still going on.
