North Korea responds to US sanctions

North Korea has sent a staunch warning to the US in response to unanimously approved sanctions adopted by the U.N. security council on 5 August.We are ready to retaliate with far bigger actions to make the US pay a price for its crime against our country and people, said the government controlled Korean Central News Agency (NCNA). The sanctions are a direct response to Pyongyangs recent  intercontinental ballistic missile tests, which put the US in range of an attack. The economic sanctions key North Korean exports including coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore, and seafood.Stopping the missile tests is the first step towards dialogue, says US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Donald Trump comments on crowd turnout during a Visit to Harvey-ravaged Texas

US President Donald Trump visited Texas on Tuesday (29 August) to check on the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey and could not help but comment on the turnout of people who saw him give an impromptu speech outside a Corpus Christi firehouse. South Korea conducts new ballistic missile tests

The South Korean air force conducted live-fire drills on Tuesday (29 August), hours after North Korea flew a ballistic missile over Japan. Four F-15 fighter jets practised a drill against the North Koreas leader Kim Jong-un, dropping eight MK-84 bombs against a simulated target at the Pilsung training range.
