Niantic Labs has just rolled out the latest Pokemon GO update for iOS (v1.13.3) and Android (v0.43.3) with numerous bug fixes and cosmetic changes for the in-game user interface. The Pokemon type indicator and new egg designs are among the key modifications added into this update.
New egg designs for identification
Nintendo's popular augmented-reality game now features new design aesthetics for representing the Pokemon eggs from different categories. The 10k, 5k and 2k eggs are now colour-coded with new designs as depicted in the screenshot below:
It is now easier to identify the type of rare Pokemon eggs just by looking at the colour design on the egg. You no longer have to look at the numbers written below them, especially if you have an eyesight issue with reading smaller fonts.
Pokemon type indicators
Whenever you catch a Pokemon in the wild, the information screen will now display the Pokemon type such as Dragon/Flying or Ground type along with other stats like weight, height, stardust points and number of candies required for its evolution.
It is now easier to discern if you have caught the desired type of Pokemon to earn type bonuses, especially for catching multiple Pokemons of the same type or category.
Cosmetic changes and other minor fixes
Among other aesthetic changes, the new low-battery indicator on the Pokemon GO Plus accessory is notable as you will know precisely when the battery level falls below the threshold on your wearable device. Apart from the UI changes, the in-game text or font legibility has also been improved from the previous releases.
Meanwhile, avid Pokemon GO gamers can indulge in Niantic's special Halloween event starting 26 October to 1 November. Those who are yet to install the Halloween update may do so by navigating to the Updates tab via the App Store app on their iPhone or iPad.
