Nintendo's highly-popular augmented-reality game 'Pokemon GO' is now officially live on game servers in Japan as the restless gamers in Singapore, India, Malaysia, China and other Asian countries are likely to join the party soon.
Pokemon GO fans in Japan can now download the game via iOS App store after the game got postphoned due to a leaked email from McDonald (Japan) regarding the game's official launch time in the country. The game is now officially available for free download on the iPhone and iPad.
Avid Pokemon GO gamers can also make in-app purchases worth up to $99 (¥4,800). Nintendo's AR game allows players to explore and hunt Pokemons in real-world locations using the GPS and camera sensor on their iPhone or iPad or any Android device running Android 4.4 Kitkat or higher.
Players can interact with key objectives at the Gym and fight rival trainers in their quest to capture or defend a Gym in their locality. Pokemon GO has already set new benchmark as the most popular mobile game in the US history, beating Candy Crush's earlier record.
The game is expected to see the addition of more sponsored locations like the McDonald's in Japan as more Pokemon events are hosted by Nintendo in association with The Pokemon Company in the next few weeks.
Here is what Niantic's CEO John Hanke had earlier hinted at the game's global release status:
"We expect it to be released by the end of July."
Going by Hanke's words, it is almost certain that the rest of the Asian countries including Singapore, India, Malaysia, China and others would be getting the official game release in the next couple of weeks. According to the website mmoserverstatus, the game servers in these countries are expected to go live in the next 48 hours which is roughly two days.
