Google has openly admitted that its Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are under overwhelming demand and often exceeding its own expectations. Consequently, there have been unexpected shipment delays with the delivery dates being pushed back, owing to shortage of supplies.
Several anxious customers who pre-ordered the Pixel and Pixel XL via Google Store have been complaining on Reddit that their orders are still being listed as "Pending" or "Pre-ordered". According to 9to5Google, the credit card payment status for such pending shipments is still "unaccepted" or "unpaid".
Google is apparently struggling to keep up the demand-supply balance for its latest flagship phone as it is reportedly out of stock. A few anxious customers who contacted the support team are being informed that their shipments have been delayed until November.
Prospective buyers are now seeing the following Google notification on the website:
We're thrilled to see the excitement for our new Pixel phones, and frankly pre-order demand has exceeded our expectations. We're working to restock our inventory as soon as possible."
Google has ramped up the production numbers for under-stocked Pixel models while a few are back on sale via the US Google Store with an estimated shipping date ranging between three to four weeks from the date of ordering the handset.
