Nintendo Switch is officially getting its first video streaming app service starting 13 July.

Niconico, a big Japanese video platform known for its live streams, is officially coming to Nintendo Switch tomorrow. Like any other streaming platforms, Niconico allows fans to comment on streamed contents in real time. Users can upload their own videos, annotate it, add special effects, and pin polls and quizzes.

Before it arrives on the Switch console, the app is exclusively downloadable for free from the Japanese eShop. Switch users can download it for free as well using their Nintendo account. In the meantime, it has not been known yet when YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, and the like will arrive on Switch.

In another news, Japanese original equipment manufacturer Sony is reportedly launching the PlayStation 5 console in 2019. In an interview with GamingBolt, Wedbrush Securities' Michael Pachter said the next-generation home console might be coming in 2019 as a "half step" from its predecessor, the PlayStation 4 Pro.

"Sony is probably timing it better because they are going to bring out a 4K-capable device when the 4K TV market reaches 50% in the USA and 35% in the rest of the world," claims Pachter.

He furthered that the console will support 240 frames per second. It remains a mystery whether or not it will be allowed to play games that were made for the PlayStation 4 Pro. Nevertheless, Pachter showed his confidence that it will happen, taking it from Sony Interactive Entertainment America's chief executive and president Shawn Layden as the basis. Layden previously made a vow that the PlayStation 5 "will be a full-fledge console."

Reaching Sony for a response on the analyst's claim, Sony refused to comment. Hence, it has to be taken with a grain of salt.
