For instance, in Singapore, there is no carrier to supports them, as the existing carriers are ceasing to operate on 900MHz and 1800MHz bands-only two bands that the new Nokia 3310 will support.Moreover, the device, which is riding heavily on nostalgia, might technicality prove to be a bane for this new iteration of the timeless classic as they are only compatible with 2G connections.
The new Nokia 3310 has been released with much gusto in MWC 2017, but the fact remains that in order to be viable for all countries in the world without any restriction, it needs to provide support for four bands at the very least i.e., 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz and 1900MHz. Currently, the new device will be able to perform in phone markets of some countries Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. This too is a ticking time bomb because in these areas the phone will become defunct, as regulators are slowly going to adapt to new frequencies to accommodate for 3G and 4G networks and shut down unused frequencies, which power the 2G network spectrum.
HMD Global the firm that makes Nokia brand phones had launched the Nokia 3310, assuring the users that it was a perfect blend of the things that made this phone great in the past, like a battery that will last for more than 30 days. The phone will also have a web browser and a 2 megapixel camera. While users were excited to see the return of a beloved phone from the nascent era of technology, many found it to be an excellent choice as a backup phone to carry around owing to the fact that smartphones these days tend to drain their batteries away very quickly.
