Lenovo has launched yesterday the Moto Z2 Play in two colour variants: Lunar Grey and Fine Fold. The smartphone comes along with new Moto Mods for a fee. The unlocked Moto Z2 Play starts at US$499. It is slated to be launched in the summer.
Moto Z2 Play specs
The Moto Z2 Play wears a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display that is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 626 processor. In terms of memory, the phone has two variants: One has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the other has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone also has built-in USB Type-C port and 3.5mm jack. The microSD slot can carry up to 2TB of memory.
The 12MP main camera comes with a 1.4-micron pixel sensor which has a focal point of 1.7. This also features dual autofocus lens and dual-LED flash. The 5MP front camera has a focal length of 2.2. The 3000mAh battery, on the other hand, is a substantial downgrade from its predecessor, the Moto Z Play. Lenovo attempts to recompense the loss with the TurboPower charger which the company claims can charge the phone up to 50 percent in just half an hour. It even boasts that the battery can last up to 30 hours of mixed usage.
On the physical side, the Moto Z2 Play rocks a shiny water-repellent metal unibody frame with nano-coating. It is 5.99mm thick. The fingerprint scanner is comfortably located below the home button.
Moto Mods
The Moto Z2 Play comes with a host of new Moto Mods. The Moto Power Pack includes an additional battery which provides up to 16 hours' worth of power. It comes in black and white colour options, each costs US$49.99. The Turbo Power Pack includes a 3490mAh battery and a fast charger. The pack's battery can be charged up to 50 percent in just 20 minutes using the fast charger. It goes for US$79.99.
Other Moto Mods include the Wireless Charging Style Shell for US$39.99, the JBL SoundBoost 2 (comes in black, red, and blue colours with a kickstand) for US$79.99, and the Moto GamePad (with USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack) for US$79.99. It can still support the old Moto Mods.
