Malaysia's MARA chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa found himself in thick soup after the Johor crown prince, Tunku Ismail Tunku Ibrahim, revealed that someone with the title of "Tan Sri" had used MARA funds to sponsor the Kelantan Red Warriors football team.
Annuar Musa was also the former Rural Development minister and president of the Kelantan Football Association.

According to Malay Mail, the mystery man has forced MARA and its entities to sponsor the football team. While demanding an explanation from the specific "Tan Sri", the crown prince also revealed documents showing sponsorships by University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and Pelaburan MARA worth RM500,000 and RM200,000 respectively.
"When the nation's economy is weak and when there are fiscal cuts here and there, you still proceeded to use the funds meant for Malaysians to fund The Red Warriors as the chairman of Mara," he said in a Facebook post.
The prince then went on to point out that UniKL, which is owned by the federal agency, has cut down its scholarships from RM2 billion to RM1.3 billion in 2016.

Without naming any individual, the prince said that he will summon a minister who previously had a history with a woman in the state, reported the news website. "Remember, don't wake a sleeping tiger. I don't disturb people, so don't disturb me," he added.
On 10 January, just after footballer Faiz Subri won his FIFA Puskas Award, the prince said that there is no need to worship the player as the overall scenario of football in the state is extremely grim. He also said that the footballer's achievement shouldn't be mistaken as a reflection of the overall state of Malaysian football, reported The Star.
