Google is all set to unveil two new Pixel-branded smartphones under the 'Made by Google' tag-name at the forthcoming media event on October 4. The company had earlier posted a teaser video on YouTube hinting at its plans to launch two new flagship phones while breaking away from the traditional Nexus brand-name and adopting the Pixel moniker for its upcoming devices.
Google has been selling its Chrome notebook line-up with the Pixel-brand name since 2013. There is still no word on the exact specifications of the forthcoming Pixel-branded smartphones while speculation hints that one of them could be a new tablet.
According to Google's official website which is marketing the 'Made by Google' campaign, both the upcoming phones will be manufactured by HTC under the design-guidelines put forth by Google.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai had recently confirmed at the Code Conference about the company's plans to introduce more features to existing Android interface on Nexus phones.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear if the upcoming Pixel phones would run Android Nougat out-of-the-box or feature a new unreleased build of Android.
In related news, Google is expected to unveil a pair of brand-new Android wearables or smartwatches sometime later this year.
