LG Q6, the mini version of flagship G6 smartphone, is officially rolling out starting 11 July PST, a new teaser clip revealed.
LG Q6, or what was commonly known in the industry as the LG G6 Mini, will be hitting the marketing tomorrow with its adorable specs. The smartphone is a cheaper version of the flagship device which is packed with mid-range specifications. Despite that, the Q6 runs on 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of internal memory which is not bad for a mid-ranger at all. However, LG has not yet made any announcements regarding the price of the upcoming smartphone, but it will likely fall in between the US$400 to US$500 range.
The LG Q6 sports a 5.5-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18.9, which is similar to the G6 model, for a more immersive viewing experience. The mini smartphone is also getting the predecessor's FullVision display, a technology that LG created to fill the front panel of the smartphone almost entirely with a screen to make it larger instead of extending the edges. The screen resolution is at 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, a downgrade from the G6.
Devices in LG's Q lineup include the Q6+ and the Q6α: Q6+ is powerful handset model with 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of internal memory, while Q6α is the less expensive mid-range model with 2 gigabytes of RAM and 16 gigabytes of internal memory.
LG is using a face recognition sensor to unlock the device instead of a fingerprint scanner. The screen resolution is not only the noticeable downgrade from the G6 as the small version only has the entry-level Snapdragon 435 processor. In addition, the dual camera setup of G6 becomes a single-lens camera in G6 Mini with 13 megapixels for the main shooter. Also, G6 Mini has 3,000mAh battery.
