Apple has just pulled the iOS 9.3.2 update from its servers for all affected iPad Pro models in the wake of rising complaints with the new update bricking the 9.7in Pro tablets.
Consequently, the 9.7in iPad Pro users will no longer see the update listing for iOS 9.3.2 even though they have not installed the new firmware. Instead, iOS 9.3.1 will be listed as the most recent version of iOS 9 available for download via Apple servers.
It was earlier reported that several affected users were receiving a mysterious 'Error 56' message on their 9.7in iPad Pro tablets, which rendered the device unusable after the iOS 9.3.2 update. The new update also resulted in soft reboots and complete boot failures in some cases for the same device.
Although the error message prompted users to connect their tablet to iTunes, any restore attempts resulted in a permanently bricked device.
Following the incident, Apple had reportedly started to recall all the affected iPad Pros for replacement as the company is yet to find a fix for the problem. All affected users have been advised to contact Apple Support for further assistance with repair and replacement of the device.
The iPhone maker is yet to identify the root cause of the problem and it sounds like a safe bet to avoid the iOS 9.3.2 update until a fix is found. The company has recently confirmed to iMore that it is working on a fix and plans to release an update soon.
