Huawei Technologies Co Ltd is trailblazing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in mobile handset systems and has come up with Mate 10 series, which is one of the first few AI-capable phones after Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics. An executive foresees this innovation as the next battleground in the smartphone competition.
Huawei seeks to secure a spot as a pioneer in the AI-powered smartphone market. Its new flagship smartphones Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro have AI chipsets and are touted to be more advanced than the competitors.

Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro are expected to perk up the Chinese tech giant's sales record and invigorate its position in the premium department. Since 2016, Huawei has become the world's third-largest smartphone maker, trailing only behind Apple and Samsung.
In the next few years, more companies are expected to jump into the AI-powered phone bandwagon. As of this time, Huawei is working with industry entities like Microsoft, Facebook and Google and independent software developers to craft mobile applications designed to use artificial intelligence.
