AOSP Extended ROM
How to update OnePlus 2 to Android 7.1.1 Nougat via AOSP Extended ROM

OnePlus 2 users are in for a special treat as the third-party Android developers are busy churning out a flurry of Nougat-based custom ROMs for the former flagship handset, in recent times. The newest Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Extended ROM brings stock-like experience for the purists on the latest Android 7.1.1 firmware.

The ROM is based on the Substratum theme engine for a smooth and lag-free experience out of the box. It is aptly named 'AOSP Extended' as it carries extended features from AOSP ROM for an improved overall user experience.

Those who cannot wait for the official release of Nougat update may go ahead and install this custom firmware, with due credit to the industrious XDA Developers for sharing this ROM.

You must back up your important data and settings as this procedure requires you to wipe data on the phone, besides formatting it. IBTimes SG reminds readers that it will not be held responsible for any damage to device during or after the installation of Resurrection Remix ROM. Users are advised to proceed at their own risk.

Prerequisites

  • The download files and instructions provided in this tutorial are meant for the OnePlus 2 model only. Do not attempt installing this ROM on any other variant as it could hard brick or permanently damage your device.
