Renowned YouTuber MrBossFTW aka Ross reveals how the players could decide the amount of DLC content they need with the forthcoming GTA Online updates after reading a recent news article on GTA5Cheats.com.
With the recent announcement of Red Dead Redemption 2, the biggest concern among GTA Online players and fans is that Rockstar will not be able to allocate all of its resources for further development of the online game. Consequently, it could result in the end of GTA Online updates and you no longer will receive any DLC releases.
However, the first bit of good news comes from the parent company, Take-Two Interactive, who has basically stated that they have the capacity to work on multiple projects at the same time.
Here is what Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive has said in a public statement:
"Rockstar Games has enormous bandwidth to work on multiplicity of opportunities simultaneously, and I think we all can be really proud of their ability to do so and to delight consumers while delivering experiences that critics resoundingly rate as perfect or very nearly perfect. So, we've an enormous amount of confidence in that label and their performance, and we're incredibly excited about what is to come."
Considering Zelnick's statement, the GTA community can rest assured that the game has at least another couple of years' worth of DLC content stashed up in the pipeline. Basically, it means Rockstar developers can work on Red Dead Redemption 2 and also on the GTA Online content, all at the same time.
It is anybody's guess that Rockstar will continue to deliver constant DLC updates to the game as long as their DLCs are in demand or they garner significant support from the online players and fan base through purchase of shark cards.
According to a recent tweet from a knowledgeable GTA fan, Rockstar has already mustered net revenues worth more than $700 million through sales of GTA products in the last three years, ever since the game launched. As Ross explains, this figure excludes the net earnings made through sales of game DVDs and downloads.
It is further predicted that GTA Online has the potential to bring in a staggering US$250 million annually until at least 2020. According to the latest report from Rockstar, there are about 8 million players logging into the game servers every week – a figure that will far exceed the numbers (six million) put together on Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline game servers per month.
Rockstar is likely to add more game content as long as the GTA Online user-base doesn't dry up or stop purchasing shark cards and DLC content.
