Renowned YouTuber MrBossFTW (aka Ross) walks us through the ten key things to know before buying the new Progen GP1 supercar, in his latest gameplay video for GTA Online. The YouTuber addresses some key factors including price, performance and more that could influence your buying decision in favour of the Progen GP1.
Cheap Price
As Ross points out, the Progen GP1 is way too cheaper in price ($1.26m) than the Progen T20 ($2.2m), Progen Tyris ($2.55m) and any other supercars that came out with the Import/Export DLC, like the Tempesta, Penetrator or the Nero.
Great Customisation Options
The Progen GP1 comes with great customisation options across 21 categories right out of the box including bumpers, hood caches, headlight covers, side skirts and spoilers. You can modify or customise the car's interior colours, engines and the rear with insane level of detail while each such category has around 10 to 13 customising options that will make you spoilt for choice.
To sum it up, the Progen GP1 is undoubtedly the best supercar for customisation in the game, despite being a regular non-Benny's vehicle that can only be customised at the Los Santos Customs shop.
On the downside, customising the car with a dark tinted window will mask its rear window too and thereby you will not get to see the vibrant engine bay from outside the car.
A few non-stock exhaust options do not blend well with the overall body-design and dynamics of the car as it will open up gaping holes on the rear of the car.
You will not be able to customise the wheel colour of the car as per your taste, as it comes with the chrome as default while the iFruit app does not allow you to change this default colour.
On the flip side, there are a ton of options for choosing custom seat colours and themes for the interiors of your Progen GP1.
Changing the spoiler does not have any effect on the traction capabilities of this car, unlike other supercars in the game. Consequently, there is no performance gain regardless of whether you install a spoiler or not.
As Ross admits, the steering wheel seems get in the way of your clothing and the operating dials on the instrument panel, which could be due to a coding or a design bug with this car. Quite surprisingly, there are no such bugs or glitches evident on the other supercars in the game.
Whenever you install headlight covers, the light from the headlamps will not be visible from outside the car. This is an exclusive feature of the Progen GP1.
Performance seems below par
As far as its performance is concerned, the Progen GP1 is ranked around 20 or 21 among the top supercars in the game. The top speed and traction bonus of the car is seriously lacking as the spoilers simply have no effect on the car's performance on racing tracks or in free roam mode.
The Progen T20, the Itali GTB and the Progen Tyris are simply the best supercars for racing and time trial challenges whereas the Progen GP1 fails to even compete with some of the entry-level supercars in the game.
Coming to the verdict, the Progen GP1 would suffice to be the cheapest supercar with greatest customisation capabilities. At the same time, it is one of the slowest supercars in the game and could struggle against the likes of other supercars including the Zentorno.
