Google has recently included an update to its search app on Android devices enabling it to take screenshots of a user's searches. While some Android devices have received the update, more devices have yet to receive the update anytime soon.
Once the update is rolled out, the Google search app on Android has a section where account history is shown. On the app, users will find a search history with corresponding screenshots of the search results as well as the web pages visited.
Even if Google is not keeping it in sync between devices, the update has been making many Android owners uncomfortable. CNET speculated that the sync feature might find its way on the app in the future. In terms of advantage, this update allows users to go back through to the screenshots for future references.
As of this writing, the update has not been rolled out to iOS devices yet.
How to delete, disable screenshots
Android users can still delete the screenshots taken through the Google search app and complete disable the feature if one feels the need to.
To delete screenshots, launch Google app and go to History. Search history in the last seven days will appear. Swipe up a stack of screenshots to remove them. Another way to do that is by tapping the blue button to view each screenshot, then swipe up on the stack to delete it.
To disable the feature, simply toggle the off button. Head over to Settings > Accounts & Privacy > Enable/Disable Recent.
