Galaxy Note 7's untimely exit from the global smartphone market hasn't stopped Samsung from reusing the ill-fated phone's popular Grace UI on Galaxy Note 5 units in South Korea. The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based Grace UI is specifically being rolled out for Korean Telecom-branded units as part of a new software update with build number KKU2CPI1.

The new software build with UI update was first spotted by a member of XDA Developer forums.
Meanwhile, SamMobile has confirmed that the UI update brings a bunch of new features to Note 5 such as Wide Selfie, Smart Manager, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Blue Light Filter and Game Tools.
The update also includes numerous bug fixes and improvements over the previous over-the-air (OTA) release for the Note 5.
However, it is still unclear if Samsung decided to borrow the Note 7 UI to Note 5 after the ill-fated smartphone was recalled in the wake of widespread battery-explosion issues or if it was pre-planned move from the South Korean company.
Samsung also has plans to roll out a major firmware upgrade with the release of Android Nougat update for the Note 5. If the company succeeds in doing so, then the Note 5 owners will be in for a double treat with the Grace UI and a brand-new operating system to boot.
Interested users who would like to test the new Grace UI may go ahead and download the latest OTA update via Settings > About Device > Software Update and then click Update Now button to begin the installation.
