Google launched its latest updated version for the mobile operating system Android 8.0 Oreo last month. While Pixel and Nexus devices were the first ones to receive the update, other smartphone companies have also started rolling out the update gradually. The latest to join the league is Motorola, which has now released a complete list of all the devices that will receive the update, in a blog post. Previously the smartphone maker had named only two models, Moto G5s and Moto G5s Plus, that were eligible for the update, but now other phones have made it to the list as well.

"We're happy to confirm Android 8.0 Oreo will be joining our fleet of Motorola smartphones, starting this fall," said Motorola in a statement. The company also added that the update will start rolling out from this fall.

Motorola devices that will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update are:

  • Moto Z
  • Moto Z Droid
  • Moto Z Force Droid
  • Moto Z Play
  • Moto Z Play Droid
  • Moto Z2 Play
  • Moto Z2 Force Edition
  • Moto X4
  • Moto G5
  • Moto G5 Plus
  • Moto G5S
  • Moto G5S Plus

Motorola has clarified it that this is the "full" list of the devices that are eligible for the update, which means smartphone models older than the Moto G4 series, most probably, will not get the latest Android OS update.

Several other smartphone makers, such as HTC, Nokia, OnePlus among others, have confirmed the Android 8.0 Oreo update for its selected smartphone models.
