Four-year-old uses Siri to save mum's life

A four-year-old boy in Kenley, South London, saved his mother's life, after using Siri to call 999 for an ambulance. The boy, named Roman, used his mum's thumb to unlock her iPhone and asked Siri to call the emergency services.

Within thirteen minutes Police and paramedics had arrived at the house, after the boy told the emergency services operator that his mum was dead as she was closing her eyes and not breathing, according to the statement released by London's Metropolitan Police.

Roman, his twin brother and a younger brother were reportedly at home when the incident took place.

"Hearing this call brings home the importance of teaching your young child their home address and how to call police or emergency services in an emergency situation," explained Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Ade Adelekan.

"It's an amazing story and thanks to his quick thinking and by asking 'Siri' for help, this little boy saved his mum's life and it means she is still here and can be extremely proud of him and his brothers."

Last year, in a similar incident in Australia, a mother had thanked Apple after she used the 'Hey Siri' feature to call an ambulance when her one-year-old daughter stopped breathing, reports Fox News.

It is further reported that she was able to perform a CPR on her baby with help from paramedics on the call via emergency services. The child was said to be breathing again by the time the ambulance arrived.
