far cry 5
Ubisoft

Ubisoft has already unveiled a string of exciting details about Far Cry 5 since the last few months. On Tuesday, the developer released the official teaser trailer. And just yesterday, the announcement trailer had finally been let out in the wild. Here are the things fans need to know about Far Cry 5 so far.

Release date

Far Cry 5 has been confirmed for release on 27 February 2018 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Sony will be giving away a free bonus content to every PlayStation 4 copy sold while other platforms have it for a fee. Nintendo Switch owners have been disappointed to hear that there will be no release to this console.

Gameplay

There has not been full preview released yet but reports speculate that Ubisoft is tracking along the roots of Far Cry series. From what is given, the latest title is about properties to siege and vehicles to drive around during heists. The trailer also reveals more dogfights. Non-player characters Fangs for Hire and Guns for Hire can be recruited. The game's weaponries also have a tonne of additions, including the interesting baseball bat.

The narrative

It is no longer a secret that Far Cry 5 is set in Montana. The protagonist is sheriff deputy who is deployed to the vibrant Hope County. He will soon figure out that a religious cult, The Project at Eden's Gate, has taken over the whole community. The job is to gather the residents in a safe place and remove the cult associates. However, some residents have already laid down support for the cult.

Joseph Seed, the leader of Eden's Gate, is the villain in Far Cry 5. He is no ordinary villain from what the trailer has shown. He got the town into his hands with his overwhelming charm. Pagan Min and Vaas Montenegro are two other villains in the instalment.

In the meantime, Far Cry 5 can expect more details to surface soon, especially at the annual E3 event in June. Stay tuned for more details.
