The Managing Director of Dropbox, Australia, Charlie Wood has parted ways from the company after nearly three years. Wood announced his departure on LinkedIn.
"I'd like to say a hearty thanks to all the Dropbox people I've had the pleasure to work with over these last few years. Good luck with the next phase folks," he wrote on LinkedIn.
Wood wrote on LinkedIn that he had left Dropbox to "go and build a new company / product / category". Reportedly, he has launched a start-up company called CheckIn Safe, however, details of the same has not been disclosed as of yet.
"Charlie has a deep passion for building companies and joined Dropbox over two and a half years ago to build out the Australia team and grow the company's position in ANZ," said Dropbox. They also said that the replacement would be announced soon.
The company also thanked Wood for "leading the team from a small group of about half a dozen people in 2014, to a force to be reckoned with globally."
Charlie Wood joined Dropbox in 2014 when the company opened their first regional office in Sydney and launched their channel program in Australia. Before joining the file storage vendor, Wood worked as the vice president of marketing cloud at Salesforce. He had also served in several senior positions at Microsoft.
