Square Enix has officially dropped the release date of Dragon Quest X and the gameplay of Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time.
Dragon Quest X release date
Dragon Quest X is confirmed coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS on 29 Jul in Japan and to Nintendo Switch on 21 September. It will be shipped as an all-in-one edition with all three versions of the game. It goes for JPY 4,800 (approximately US$43) with a monthly fee of JPY 1,500 (approximately US$13) for five characters on PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, the beta test will run from 19 July to 10 August.
Dragon Quest XI gameplay
Square Enix also released the gameplay preview for Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time. The gameplay is can be previewed on PlayStation 4 (between 31:00 and 46:00) and Nintendo 3DS (between 46:01 and 55:00). Apart from the gameplay, the developer also revealed the Restricted Play system for Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time.
The Restricted Play allows players, who are seeking to take the challenge to the next level, to make some restrictions in the game before playing. By switching on the shopping restriction button, for example, players will be barred from purchasing items. Players will have to depend on searching, looting, and crafting to acquire stuff.
Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time is slated to be released 29 July on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS in Japan. As for the game's release on Nintendo Switch, there has been no exact date confirmed. Game producer Yosuke Saito is quoted by Gematsu saying, "When the time that we can say something does come, I think we'll have something to say, so if you can please wait".
