Samsung Electronics Co proves it is still the most trusted smartphone brand in India as it takes home the Gadget of the Year award for the Galaxy Note 8 at the India Mobile Congress. A Samsung executive believes Bixby Voice had "played a significant role" for bagging the award.
Hyped to do bigger things, the Galaxy Note 8 had just been recognised in one of the world's largest economies for its powerful and advanced functionalities. At the India Mobile Congress on September 12, Samsung India senior vice president for Mobile Business, Asim Warsi, accepted the award.

Samsung's smart personal assistant Bixby Voice has been largely credited for the success of the device in India. The company optimised the voice assistant in the country to understand various Indian accents.
In his speech, Warsi stresses the commitment of the South Korean tech giant to deliver the finest smartphone product to the market. The Galaxy Note 8 is deemed as the most powerful smartphone till date.
"At Samsung, we believe in inspiring the world and bringing meaningful innovation to help make lives better," says Warsi. "With the launch of Galaxy Note8, we have further strengthened our leadership in the premium smartphone segment in India and this prestigious award bears testimony to our efforts."
Warsi points out that the ear to the ground approach of Samsung in creating its products is what makes it a popular choice among consumers.
"Our ear to ground approach led by innovative technologies across product and service categories have made Samsung a popular choice amongst consumers and it is a great honour to be bestowed upon with this recognition."
After its launch, the Galaxy Note 8 had taken the world by storm for its cutting-edge innovations. The device sports a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, Exynos 8895 and Snapdragon 835 processor, 6-gigabyte of RAM, dual camera and the S Pen.
