There has been much hype going on regarding the launch of the Microsoft Surface Phone, generally because the company's Surface line of products is doing extremely well in the market and also the CEO, Satya Nadella, has already confirmed that it's going to be an amazing piece of tech. However, no announcement regarding the launch date has been made yet by Microsoft and now reports have occurred that suggest the handheld will not see the daylight until 2019.

Inquisitr quoted a self-proclaimed former Microsoft employee saying, "I think Windows 10 ARM is much further away than some of us hope." The same employee also said that the Surface Phone will not be ready to release until late 2018 or even 2019.

Nadella and his team at Microsoft have been very tight-lipped about the information regarding the Surface Phone.

Meanwhile, there are high expectations in the market for this to-be-released smartphone already.

The reason for this delay could be that the Surface Phone is supposed to be a PC in a smartphone and to achieve that it needs to perfect some of its software, reported Learn Bonds. The process, according to reports, include typing up the loose ends of CShell, Windows 10 ARM, Windows 10 Cloud and Windows 10 Mobile. Once they perfect these aspects only then will the company be ready to launch the much-anticipated device.

However, Microsoft is expected to release another Windows 10 smartphone this year. Although, it will not be branded as Surface Phone, but it will get the opportunity to test some innovative ideas. It is expected to be released sometime later this year. While this unnamed device will run on Windows 10 and only run apps from the Windows Store, the Surface phone is expected to have a much more universal approach.
