Android 7.0 Nougat
Android 7.0 update hits Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in India, Germany and Russia: Download now

Samsung has just started rolling out the highly-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update for its flagship phones, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, in India, Russia and Vodafone subscribers in Germany. The update is now reaching more regions across the world, just two weeks after the company began its beta-testing spree for the new Android firmware.

The Galaxy S7 Nougat update is now available in India via OTA with build number G930FXXU1DQAZ and it weighs around 1285MB in file size. The S7 Edge gets a slightly larger Android 7.0 update with build G935FXXU1DQAZ and file size of 1290MB.

The new update is reportedly being rolled out in phases for the S7 and S7 Edge users in Germany starting with the Vodafone subscribers. This strategy would allow Samsung to identify any untested bugs or broken features in the Android 7.0 OTA, before it hits a larger number of users across the globe.

Those who cannot wait for the official rollout of the Nougat update in their country or region may go ahead and check for the update manually via Settings > About Device on their smartphone.

Some of the notable feature changes ported into the new Android update for the Galaxy S7/ S7 Edge includes improvements to UI design, and user experience, a revamped Settings menu, improved notifications interface, blue light filter, new Performance mode with the ability to adopt full HD screen resolution on the phone's native Quad HD display.

India and Russia now join the Nougat party for the Galaxy flagships along with a bunch of other European and South Asian countries including China, France, Malaysia, South Korea, UAE and UK.
